Key Accountabilities
Responsibilities
- Provide senior legal advice and support to the business units and functions in our Region on a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, disputes, compliance, corporate governance, intellectual property, data protection, and litigation.
- Manage and coordinate the legal team in the region (3 resources), ensuring high quality, business oriented and timely delivery of legal services and alignment with the global legal strategy and policies.
- Develop and implement legal risk management strategies and policies, as well as training and awareness programs, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and to protect the company's interests and reputation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships, internal and external stakeholders, including our Partners in the Region, the French Management Committee, senior peers from other infrastructure departments, clients, auditors, external counsel and industry associations.
- Monitor and anticipate legal developments and trends in the region and advise the business on their implications and opportunities.
- Actively contribute to the firmwide legal team strategy, initiatives and projects.
People Leadership
- Lead the legal team FBLA.
- Define the objectives, roles, and responsibilities of the legal team FBLA in line with the firm wide legal team strategy.
- Provides information and ensures proper flow of communication to the General Counsel, local Leadership and within the legal team.
Positioning of the Role
You will independently lead the second biggest Region of the firm with more than 50 Partners; important and big client accounts and a software products business unit.
- You directly report to the Group General Counsel and the President of the FBLA region as a business unit.
- You will be a member of the firmwide Legal Leadership Team
Qualifications
Background and Sector Experiences
- Master’s degree in law, preferably with a specialization in business law or international law.
- At least 10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the consulting and technology or software industry; a previous experience in a law firm as a qualified lawyer is a plus.
General Experience
- Excellent communication, negotiation and drafting skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner to different audiences and levels of seniority. Cultural acumen is a prerequisite.
- Team player who actively contributes to the legal strategy, leads legal projects and drives change.
- Ideally project management experience
International Experience and Language Skills
- International exposure; ability to handle cross-border and multi-jurisdictional matters.
- Fluent in English (spoken and in writing incl. legal technical language). Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
Management and Leadership Skills
- Previous leadership role and line management responsibility
- Demonstrate ability to make decisions regarding complex legal and business problems.
- Effectively communicating firm and team values and acting as role model

- Business-oriented, agile and proactive and solution-driven mindset, with the ability to balance legal risks and business objectives and to provide pragmatic and strategic legal advice.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and ethical standards, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
